What is the MyView panel?
MyView is a panel of Australians from all over the country who
participate in surveys. MyView is managed by I-View, a division of IPSOS SA,
one of the ten largest research firms in the world. Our clients want to know
what you think about their products and services and how they can make them
better. They also want to know your ideas on current events and social issues.
How do I become a member?
To become a member you only need to fill out our membership survey.
The survey asks questions about who you are and what you like to do. We use
your information to determine which future surveys you might want to
participate in. Click
here to become a member of the
MyView panel.
Does it cost anything to become a member?
Absolutely not. Membership is completely FREE. We use the term
member because once you register with us, you become a part of the MyView
community. The community is a special group of people who are invited to
participate in market and social research surveys.
What are the benefits of becoming a member?
As a MyView member you are able to provide your feedback and
opinions on a wide variety of topics. Some of our surveys offer the chance
to see new products or services from companies before the general public does.
Our clients are some of the world's largest computer, consumer goods,
automotive, food manufacturers and web based companies. A few of our surveys
will also provide you with information about how other people in your age group
or career feel about the same issues.
From April 2009 we are rewarding our members by awarding dollars to everyone who
participates in a study. The number of dollars you receive depends on whether
you have qualified to do our survey, as well as the length of the survey we
have asked you to complete. If you are invited to participate in a survey, but
do not qualify, you will be awarded with $0.50. If you qualify and complete a
survey up to 10 minutes in length (approximately 30 questions) you will receive
$1.00. For a survey 11-20 minutes, you will receive $2.00; 21 to 30 minutes,
$3.00 and so on in blocks of ten minutes.
What are the terms and conditions?
How do you use my personal information?
The information we gather during registration helps us to select
people for our surveys. For example, if we do a survey for a large
computer game developer, we might use state and age information to find MyView
members who live in New South Wales, who are 18-23 and like to play computer
games. Your information is used to help us target the right people for the
survey. The information is also used to help our clients understand the
demographic characteristics of those who complete their survey. For example, if
we do a survey for a large pet food supplier, we can give them information such
as the percentage of female dog owners with an income between $30-50,000 who
live in Victoria and who are most likely to purchase their product.
Will you sell any of my information?
NO! We will never give anyone outside of our company your personal
information. The information you provide to us is used only for legitimate
research purposes and to determine who is best suited for a survey.
How do I change my contact information?
The easiest way is to log in above and change your details in the
MyDetails section
How will you contact me?
For surveys, we will always contact you via e-mail. The e-mail we
send to you will provide you with the survey URL or web address directing you
to our survey site to take the most recent survey. If we need to send you a
cheque or merchandise we will use the mailing information you have provided us
with, OR we will have you visit our site to fill out a form asking for your
current mailing address. If we are inviting you to participate in a Telephone
Survey, a Group Discussion or Focus Group, we will still send you an e-mail
invitation asking you to contact us at a specific telephone number, if you are
interested. We also have our newsletters which are sent via e-mail to keep you
informed on panel news and views.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small bit of information that is stored in a user's
browser, often just a code that contains the server name and a generated string
of unique text and numbers. A cookie cannot be used to get data from your hard
drive. Cookies are used to store information about what pages you have
requested within that specific site, unless the visitor has specifically
offered personal information already on the site (i.e. through a registration
form). There is no way for a site to know more about that individual. Cookies
are beneficial in research to determine where you have "left-off" in the survey
if you wish to pick up again at a later time.
Why can't I view graphics with my AOL browser?
We sometimes hear from our AOL members who have trouble viewing
graphics with their web browser. There are many factors that can influence the
quality of graphics. The easiest and fastest way to better viewing would be to
upgrade your AOL to the latest version. All earlier versions of AOL have
limitations on viewing graphic attachments. Another way is to use the latest
version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape which seems to be the best
browser software for viewing graphics. Even if you connect through AOL, you can
still use one of these browsers to access the Internet. The last concern would
be to check your AOL "Preference for Web Graphics" settings. Make sure you have
the option set at "uncompressed". This should help although it may take a
little longer to load a web page.
